Whiskey Nine

WHISKEY NINE

This fit-up project is the first phase in an overall masterplan for the building that occupies the 111 Central location in downtown Minot.  Whiskey Nine occupies just under 3,000 square feet of a building that was originally planned as a 6-story building prior to 1920.  Now, it acts as the main and first tenant in a building that plans to host additional commercial/retail space as well as multiple housing units above.  The project aimed at “setting the tone” for future development within the building with careful consideration of high design and thoughtful detailing.  The project’s program addresses an issue many golf lovers throughout the Midwest face – how to continue to participate in a seasonal activity during typically harsh and long winters.  It offers a place for golfers and non-golfers to gather and enjoy local cuisine, locally brewed beer and craft cocktails.  The design was intended to evoke a sense of history through material selection and details, while incorporating technology like an indoor putting green and several golf simulators.  The end result is a place where people can go and feel connected to history, while enjoying the present through good food and a few rounds of one of history’s oldest and most revered pastimes.
