FISH LAKE RUSTIC

Inspired by the client’s admiration for alpine design, Fish Lake Rustic began with a walk through the woods on an untouched parcel in Minnesota Lake country.  The site had been long overlooked, mainly due to the abundance of cattails at the lot’s shoreline.  It was chosen to instead embrace the setting as one experiences the walk from the shore to the open water along the boardwalk.  Naturally weathered pine exteriors set the stage for the home’s heavy, yet airy interior with the use of exposed steel, reclaimed wood and structural beams.  The project was designed with an importance on entertaining and features an open aired 3-season room directly adjacent to the kitchen.  Drop down screens extend the use of the space into the harsh winter months and allow its guests to enjoy Minnesota lake country year-round.
