CAMP WILDERNESS

Nested in the woods, Camp Wilderness is perched high above Fish Lake in Minnesota.  The desire was a relatively humble roadside posture, which contrasts to the site’s walk-out potential.  Minimal disturbance was a goal while designing the cabin’s layout and position on the site, while simultaneously ensuring a specific view upon entering.  Vaulted ceilings, paired with wood beams and clean finishes make the most of a relatively modest footprint.  An open, 3 season porch anchors the project and allows a clear view of the lake from the road.  A variety of spaces was intended to be both intimate in small settings as well as accommodating for large family events.
