A PASSION FOR DESIGN:
CHA's roots began when the firm's founder, Chris Hawley, designed and built his family's cabin near his hometown of Minot, ND, prior to his graduation from architecture at NDSU. The core beliefs used then - a passion for design, architecture as storytelling, it's all about the details, and North Dakota design excellence - eventually led to the defining beliefs that founded CHA in 2011 with Chris as a solo practitioner of architecture. Since then, the demand for our firm's custom architectural designs and ability to provide seamless design/build services resulted in the expansion to a staff of 11.
ARCHITECTURE AS STORYTELLING:
Your benefit in working with CHA is that we are inherently good listeners as a result of our design background. Good listeners translate vision. We begin each project with a friendly, intimate dialogue. We feel this experience should be like telling your closest friend your dreams. You get the honest, constructive feedback you expect but with the bonus of our design expertise to help lead the way. This unique skill is how we begin architecture as storytelling. It is also one of the many factors in Chris' award as People's Choice for "Best Residential Architect" published by Design and Living Magazine, for the last three years in a row.
